I first noticed that my weight was a problem: As a young adult

How has your weight has affected your life: Being in a larger body- it’s tough walking into a room where you are immediately judged for your size, not being able to shop for comfortable clothes in a regular store, even doing simple mundane everyday tasks like walking up and down a flight of stairs, or bending over to pick up something you drop from the floor, or sitting with your legs crossed. Those are ALL things I couldn’t do before I took control of my life and decided to make a change.

How has the gastric sleeve helped you get control of your weight issues: The gastric sleeve has been a TOOL in this journey. It’s all about learning to use the tools properly, just as you wouldn’t buy a tool off the shelf and use it without reading the instructions. Surgery was personally my last option, after doing diets, pills, Injections and not getting consistent long term results.

What’s one thing you can do now that you couldn’t before you lost the weight:
Being 1 year post-op, there are SO many things I CAN do, but most importantly the biggest part is- I am relearning to love myself. I have self confidence, that I have NEVER had, and that has made my marriage and friendships stronger.
