After having kids, I struggled with my weight—and everything that came with it. My asthma was uncontrolled despite multiple medications. I had to sleep sitting up because of severe reflux. I couldn’t ride certain amusement park rides, and the walk of shame after not fitting in the seat still haunts me. I tried every diet and workout plan, but nothing worked. I was sneaking food, binging on ice cream, and constantly craving sugar. I felt hopeless.
Since having gastric sleeve surgery in April 2022, my life has completely changed. I’ve gone from 233 pounds to 117. I can run, play, and roughhouse with my grandkids. My asthma is better, I’ve reduced my medications, and my relationship with food is healthier than ever. I still enjoy sweets, but the cravings no longer control me. I’m satisfied with so much less—and it feels freeing.
