Gastric bypass is a malabsorptive operation, which can rarely lead to vitamin and nutrient deficiencies. Therefore we recommend bloodwork every 6-12 months afterwards:

Duodenal Switch/SIPS Procedure
The duodenal switch or SIPS Procedure is the most powerful of all weight loss surgeries! However, SIPS/DS patients are also at the highest risk for vitamin and nutrient deficiences and MUST be compliant with the recommended post-op vitamins. We recommend checking the following labs afterwards:

Lap Band/Realize Band
For gastric band patients, no specific labs are needed. We recommend regular health screening labs according to your primary care physician’s guidelines.
