Bloodwork after duodenal switch/SIPS
Duodenal switch and the SIPS Procedure are the most powerful weight loss operations out there, but due to the amount of small intestine bypassed, patients are at highest risk for developing potentially severe vitamin/nutrient deficiencies if they don’t take their vitamins and get their labs checked. It is very important that you come in for your post-op bloodwork visits every 6 months! We recommend checking the following labs:

Does Dr Curry see patients he has NOT performed surgery on? I had surgery in Middletown in 1999. Now my iron, Vit D, B12……very low. PCP doesn’t get it! Feel dr with weight loss surgery is my best answer.

I have been struggling with my weight for the past year and I notice a huge increase in the amount I’ve gained. Does Dr Curry perform TSH testing to see why a patient is struggling to lose weight. I’ve dieted and also tried diet pills and nothing works. I’ve seen Dr Curry a few years ago but now I desperately need help. I am 5’2 and 200lbs. I bounce from 195-200 and that’s it. I can’t lose past that. Please Help

Hi there, while we do follow TSH levels in our post op patients, we are not endocrinologists so we do not actively treat or diagnose thyroid disease. If you feel that may be a problem talk to your PCP who can order some bloodwork or refer you to an endocrinologist.
