Please take this list with you when you go to have labs drawn for the implantation of the Spatz Balloon and participation in the FDA post-approval study. Show this list to the technician and make sure the following labs have been drawn.
Labs and tests that are required:
- CBC: Hgb, Hct, WBC, Platelets
- Chemistry panel: sodium, potassium, BUN, creatinine, glucose, SGOT(AST), SGPT(ALT), alkaline phosphatase, total cholesterol
- TSH
- H.Pylori Antibody
- Hemoglobin A1C (if diabetic)
- Urine pregnancy test (for women of childbearing age)

These additional tests may be required but will typically be done at a hospital outpatient testing department and not at a freestanding lab:
- EKG (above the age of 40)
- Chest X-Ray (above the age of 60)
