After having kids, my weight began to take a toll—not just on my health, but on my life. I missed out on so much with my children because I was too embarrassed to wear summer clothes, too uncomfortable in the heat, and too achy to be active. Some days, the pain was so overwhelming I didn’t want to leave the house. I struggled in relationships because I didn’t have a good relationship with myself.

Since my gastric sleeve surgery in November 2019, everything has changed. I’ve gone from 240 pounds to 131, and with it came confidence I never knew I had. I can now play with my grandbabies, ride roller coasters without fear or shame, double-cross my legs, walk without constant breaks, and even run on a treadmill pain-free. Most importantly, I enjoy life again—with no more excuses.

This surgery has even helped me avoid knee surgery for almost five years. The aches, the pain, the emotional weight—they’re all fading.

I wouldn’t be here without the amazing support from JourneyLite and Dr. Curry. Over the last five years, their open communication and encouragement have kept me grounded. When I slipped, all it took was a phone call to get back on track. They truly care, and that has made all the difference.
