Congratulations on completing the first month of your compounded tirzepatide program! In month two, we will be doubling your dosage of the medication. Continue to watch out for side effects, most commonly:
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- If you are having a lot of issues, we can send an anti-nausea prescription to your pharmacy. Just give us a call at (513) 559-1222 or text us during business hours at (513) 572-1718.
- Constipation
- It’s a good idea to use over the counter stool softeners (colace, Senekot), fiber, or Miralax if you are having trouble with constipation.
- GERD
- Acid reflux/GERD symptoms can be treated with over the counter Pepcid (famotidine) or Prilosec (omeprazole).
If you are having major trouble with side effects, it is recommended to go back to your previous dosage for a week or two and then try increasing again.
Phase 1/Month 2-Maintenance Dose
Order: Tirzepatide Phase One: Month 2
20mg tirzepatide (1cc): 1 vial – $233 (including needles and shipping)
- This will be a 4-week supply of medication.
- You will be injecting 25 units per week.
- This is the Phase 1 Maintenance Dose. You can stay at this dose as long as it is working well for you.
- You will need to order 1 vial of tirzepatide each month while on this dose.
- If you feel the effects are fading, you can move up to Phase 2.
- You will need 1 vial of a stronger dose of medication each month while on Phase 2.

What's Next?
You will need a new vial of tirzepatide for next month. You can remain on this maintenance dose as long as you are having good results. You will need a live office visit every 3 months, or any time you elect to move up a phase. If you need a refill outside of an office visit, please contact our office by calling or texting (513) 572-1718!
IMPORTANT: You will need to provide your own alcohol prep pads (similar to these available on Amazon) to clean your skin and the top of the vial of medication before inserting the needle. You can also purchase these at your local pharmacy.
Sharps Disposal
IMPORTANT: DO NOT DISCARD USED NEEDLES/SYRINGES DIRECTLY IN THE TRASH. Place your used needles and syringes into a thick plastic container (such as an empty bleach bottle). Use a sharpie to mark “SHARPS” on the bottle. Once it is full, or when you are done with the program, use tape to secure the lid and place it in a trash receptacle.
