The short answer is yes!
The HCG diet is in the category of VLCD, which means “very low calorie diet”.
VLCD’s have been around for decades, and have been shown to be safe and effective. According to Wikipedia, a VLCD is defined as a diet that is comprised of less than 800 calories per day.
The specifically-formulated HCG diet helps achieve relatively rapid weight loss, and the addition of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) injections helps to target abdominal, or “metabolically-active” fat.
