Wegovy (semaglutide) and other GLP-1 receptor agonists (Mounjaro, Ozempic, Saxenda) are revolutionizing the weight loss industry. The only problem is that nobody can afford these medications, as they are seldom covered by insurance and the monthly out-of-pocket cost is usually around $1200!
Luckily, due to Wegovy being on the FDA shortage list, we are allowed to partner with compounding pharmacies to make an injectable formulation containing semaglutide that has similar properties to the brand name Wegovy. This program will only be available for a limited time (until the FDA removes Wegovy from the shortage list), however while it is available patients can achieve excellent results with an out-of-pocket cost around 80% than for brand name Wegovy. For just $199 for your initial consultation, you will meet with an experienced physician or nurse practitioner who will analyze your history and weight loss goals to determine the optimal medication for you. You will also have a video visit with one of our expert licensed registered dietitians. If semaglutide is the chosen option, we will transmit a prescription electronically to University Compound Pharmacy in Troy, Michigan. Within 5 business days you will receive a refrigerated package containing a vial of semaglutide, syringes, and needles. The initial cost, including shipping, is around $260 (subject to change) and is a 6-week supply of medication!
Monthly visits are required ($129) for the first 4 months, and the dosage of the medication will be increased over that time as tolerated. The cost, of course, increases somewhat for the medication at higher doses.
