gastric bypass anatomy

Gastric Bypass Patients

  • For bypass patients, the pain will usually be greatest at the left upper quadrant incision.
  • This is way out to the left, right under your rib cage.
  • This is due to spreading the muscle fibers to get a stapler in, then closing it with a suture at the end.
  • The suture is dissolvable, but it takes a couple of weeks!
