Your Next Chapter

What Can Be Discussed During Your Consultation?

Weight loss can improve health and quality of life, but excess skin may
remain. Your consultation is a chance to discuss the areas that concern
you and learn which options may be appropriate.

Abdomen and Waist

Discuss options such as a tummy tuck or lower-body lift for loose
skin around the abdomen, waist, hips, lower back, or buttocks.

Arms and Thighs

Learn whether an arm lift or thigh lift may improve contour,
clothing fit, comfort, or movement.

Breast Contouring

Explore individualized options that may include a lift, reduction,
augmentation, or a customized combination.

Loose or Hanging Skin

Discuss skin that causes irritation, hygiene concerns, difficulty
with clothing, or self-consciousness.

Incisions and Recovery

Understand likely incision locations, recovery
expectations, and time away from work or activities.

Timing and Candidacy

Learn whether your weight stability, health, nutrition, and goals
suggest that now is the right time—or whether waiting may be better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About the Complimentary Consultation

Who qualifies for this offer?

The offer is intended for JourneyLite bariatric surgery patients
who are at least 12 months beyond surgery. Final candidacy for any
procedure can be determined only after an appropriate evaluation.

Does requesting a consultation obligate me to have surgery?

No. The consultation is an opportunity to ask questions and
understand your options. You are not required to schedule a procedure.

Why must I be at least 12 months beyond bariatric surgery?

Many patients continue losing weight during the first year.
Additional time may allow weight and body changes to stabilize,
which can help with surgical planning. The ideal timing differs
from patient to patient.

What happens during the consultation?

You can discuss the areas that concern you, possible procedures,
likely scars, expected recovery, risks, limitations, and whether
treatment should be performed in one stage or more than one stage.

Will body-contouring surgery leave scars?

Yes. Procedures that remove excess skin require incisions and
create permanent scars. The consultation allows you to understand
likely scar locations and decide whether the potential benefits
are worth that tradeoff.

Can I request a consultation even if I am not ready for surgery?

Yes. The consultation may help you understand your choices and
identify any weight, nutrition, health, or lifestyle goals that
should be addressed before proceeding.

Will insurance pay for body-contouring surgery?

Coverage depends on the procedure, your benefits, and your
insurance plan’s medical-necessity requirements. Some procedures
are considered cosmetic. Dr. Martin’s office can explain its
policies and the next steps after your evaluation.
