Thanks to all who came out in the cold weather to participate in the 2014 American Diabetes Association Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes! We had a great time and had lots of interest in our protein bars and information at our booth, as we are learning more every day about how surgical weight loss impacts diabetes and often puts in into remission.
There are millions of diabetics in the US who could benefit from life-saving weight loss surgery. Unfortunately, Obamacare did little to expand coverage. Only a small percentage of patients who need bariatric surgery have coverage for it. This needs to change.
Over 1500 walkers came out to walk for a cure!
