A price does not determine the right procedure.
A JourneyLite surgeon evaluates your health history, BMI, reflux, prior procedures, goals, and outpatient suitability. You can compare gastric sleeve with bypass, SADI, medical weight loss, or other options before deciding.
Consultations may begin at a JourneyLite regional office or virtually. Qualifying self-pay procedures are performed at our accredited, nationally-recognized JourneyLite Surgery Center in Cincinnati. Patients from more than 30 states—including Alaska—have traveled to JourneyLite to access our extensive bariatric experience. Travel and recovery plans are coordinated beforehand. When a routine postoperative hotel stay is required under current package terms, the hotel stay is covered; transportation, meals, extra nights, and other personal expenses may be separate.
Self-pay, insurance, and financing are different questions
Self-pay
A defined package can make the major procedure fees more predictable when insurance does not cover bariatric surgery or you prefer not to use it.
Insurance
Private coverage is employer- and plan-dependent. Medicare and Medicaid coverage also requires individual eligibility and program requirements.
Financing
Approved financing may divide eligible costs over time. Ask for current terms, required down payments, and any services that must be paid separately.
How to get started
Request information
Ask for the current package terms and consultation options.
Complete evaluation
After a live or virtual consultation, your surgeon determines whether sleeve and outpatient surgery are appropriate.
Review total costs
Confirm included services, separate expenses, payment timing, and financing.
Proceed when ready
Complete preparation and schedule only after clinical and financial questions are answered.

What is included in JourneyLite’s $10,000 self-pay gastric sleeve package?
For eligible primary gastric sleeve patients, the package includes the surgeon’s fee, standard anesthesia services, the JourneyLite Surgery Center facility fee, and one year of surgery-related office follow-up care. Current written terms and restrictions apply.
Does the $10,000 price include every possible expense?
No. Testing, laboratory work, imaging, prescriptions, vitamins, protein products, outside-provider services, medical clearances, hospital-based care, and other services may be separate. When a routine postoperative hotel stay is required under the current package terms, the hotel stay is covered; transportation, meals, extra hotel nights, and other personal travel expenses may be separate. JourneyLite will explain the current written inclusions and exclusions before scheduling.
Who may qualify for the self-pay package?
The package is intended for eligible patients having a first-time gastric sleeve who are medically appropriate for the outpatient setting. A consultation, clinical evaluation, and clearance are required.
Does the package cover revision or conversion surgery?
No. Revision procedures and conversions from a previous bariatric operation require an individualized evaluation and separate pricing.
Where is the surgery performed?
Qualifying self-pay gastric sleeve procedures are performed at our accredited, nationally-recognized JourneyLite Surgery Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Initial consultations may be available at a regional JourneyLite office or virtually. JourneyLite brings more than 20 years of bariatric experience, and our surgeons have performed more than 6,000 gastric sleeve procedures. Can I use insurance instead of self-pay?
Yes, when your plan includes bariatric surgery and JourneyLite can participate under the plan’s requirements. Coverage is employer- and plan-dependent, so benefits must be investigated individually.
Is financing available?
Financing options may be available, subject to approval and current terms. Ask the JourneyLite team for the available payment and financing information.
Does requesting information commit me to surgery?
No. You can ask about pricing, eligibility, alternatives, and next steps without committing to treatment. Surgery requires consultation and individualized medical evaluation.
